Giving Tuesday is a special day of fundraising that happens every year, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It was created as an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. In 2022, the money Ewo raised on Giving Tuesday helped build a new kitchen on the Nicholas campus.
If you remember, the kitchen on this campus had fallen into disrepair and finally fell apart in August of 2022. Without a kitchen, the cooks have been preparing lunch for the students outside. The entire school year! Day after day, they are exposed to the elements – the heat of the Haitian sun as well as the rain.

Construction on the new kitchen in Nicholas took almost 8 weeks and had a few setbacks given the conditions in Haiti. We never gave up hope and neither did our team in Bayonnais! This dream is a reality because of YOU! The project is locally sourced and built, giving back to the local economy.

For those of you who have been to Bayonnais, you know it’s quite a hike to get to the top of the mountain – unbelievable to see these workers carrying the supplies up the mountain so they can build the kitchen!

When school returns in the fall, the cooks will have a new kitchen to prepare meals for the students of Nicholas. These ladies are so appreciative – this fundraiser will make a huge difference for them and for the students they feed. We are so thankful to everyone who supported this project. It’s making a real difference in Bayonnais!
