Teachers Day & Haitian Flag Day

The Institution Classique de Bayonnais (ICB), is closed today. In collaboration with the OFCB administration, the kindergarten and primary school sections celebrated on May 17, 2022, Teachers’ Day and the Haitian Flag Day. As part of this celebration, the board organized a series of activities, including conference-debates.

In an atmosphere of warmth and love for each other, the elementary and kindergarten in ICB gathered together hundreds of participants as part of the celebration of our Flag, which is organized every May 17th and 18th. The purpose of this activity is to reflect on the flag which is a patriotic symbol and allows students to get in touch with their teachers. “It simply came to our notice then. Since school is a factor that allows people to live together and develop a country, we decided to carry out these activities with the idea of exchanging with teachers, talking to students about the importance of the flag,”said Charlesen Alicius, the principal of the primary section.

Mr. Alcius, who applauded with satisfaction, said that he was very satisfied with the success of the initiative. “Participants were thirsty for such an activity. More than 85% of the school’s students, more than a thousand, said they were in attendance,”We look forward to going out with the students next year,” he said.

Alderin Robert, a member of the organization, did not hide his satisfaction. Under the theme “Ethics and the Teaching Profession”, Robert pointed out to teachers the need to continue to pass on knowledge to future generations. “Teaching is a commitment where the teacher decides to participate in building the society. In this, they are role models who must continue to educate and socialize students, ”said Robert, who also pledged to participate in his own way in enhancing the teaching profession.

According to Alderin Robert, about 50 teachers attended. He concluded, “The response has been overwhelming and positive. I was very satisfied. We would also like to remind you that Etienne Philippe and Lamérite Dieujuste, two professors at the ICB, gave a wonderful talk on the history of the flag.”
