Who’s Sherri? She’s a long-time supporter of Student Sponsorship in Haiti, being active in this mission since 2000. That’s over 20 years and predates World of God and Ewo!! She’s also an outreach leader at First Presbyterian in Charlotte. Sherri is new to our board this year and already making a big impact! We’d love for you to get to know her better, so we asked her a few fun questions… Enjoy!!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.
Last great book you read, or what are you currently reading? I love to read and am in 2 book clubs! Currently reading Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. One of my all-time favorites is Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
Favorite character in Harry Potter? Why? Probably one of the few people who has not read or watched Harry Potter!
Favorite new pandemic hobby? Making bracelets
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick? “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey
What is your favorite way to exercise? Yoga – (wish I had started it sooner) and walks on the beach.
What cartoon character would like for a friend? Why? Wiley E Coyote because of his creativity and the fact he never gives up!
Do you run late or early? Always early! To me, if I am on time, then I am late.
Most fond memory of Bayonnais. So many!!! Our first day arriving after the long travel we were greeted by all the children from the school. School had let out early that day as two grades were playing each other in soccer. The school buildings facing the “field” were lined with children and the entire yard was surrounded by children cheering on the players. They were so joyous and at the end of the game, the entire school ran onto the field!
