Ewo’s New Team Lead, Israel Fils-Aime

I am delighted to have been chosen as Team Lead of Ewo. Thank you so much!

The existence of Ewo and the phrase, “Making New Heroes in Haiti,” symbolizes hope for present generations and those of tomorrow. In a country like Haiti, education is not accessible to everyone. Facilitating the education of almost 700 sponsored children is a proof of love.

Increasing the number of children in school means increasing the number of future citizens useful to society and reducing the rate of juvenile delinquency in Haiti. Each sponsored child can be seen as a light to illuminate their neighborhood. With the donors’ support, another Bayonnais, another Haiti is possible.

Special thanks to Board members for their expertise. Thanks to this, the wind of hope continues to whistle through our community. Congratulations to the CEO of OFCB Ministries, Actionnel Fleurisma who thinks he must have successors. He treats all the children of Bayonnais as his own. He still believes that these children can do better than him in the future. Melissa, the Executive Director, is more than a hard worker who gives her body and soul to ensure that community of Bayonnais is transformed. I always ask her if she has time to rest. She is always at work.

May all our children be bearers of light to enlighten Bayonnais in particular and Haiti as a whole! I hope, through my actions, to justify the trust placed in me.

My favorite quote is, “Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine; that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.” – Nelson Mandela
