Haiti is Back to School!

OFFICIAL REOPENING OF SCHOOL IN HAITI ON OCTOBER 1st, 2024

On August 5th, the ICB school in Bayonnais opened its doors for students from 6th grade to 13th grade. The only grade not to attend were the rising 10th graders as they were waiting for their 9th grade national exams results.

Of course, the political and economic crisis still remains in the country, but parents in Bayonnais still believe that only education can make a difference in their children’s lives. Parents continue doing their best to make sure that their kids are going back to school to continue their education.

“Bayonnais is the only community where students go to school with complete peace of mind, farmers help each other and love each other until now. Thanks to God.” From Pastor Actionnel

October 1st, 2024 was the date named by the Ministry of National Education for the reopening of classes in Haiti for the school year 2024-2025. On this day, all students of the ICB School were able to return to campus for school.

In Bayonnais on this day, hundreds of students were noticed all over the streets.

As always, before attending classes, the students are invited to a devotional service to dedicate the school year. During the service they learn not only how to succeed in life, but also how to behave on the campus and at home, and how to be disciplined. Discipline plays an important role in their lives. There is no success without discipline

The students were also given their schedules, reunited with old friends and made new ones, and showed their love for their teachers. Every single student was delighted  for a great school year!

Happy school year to every single student in Haiti! May God help the parents who struggle to give their children the support they need to go to school!
