Many of you are familiar with Helen Hunter, who was Actionnel’s sponsor. Helen and her family brought Actionnel to the US to live with their family and sponsored his schooling at CPCC. David Nichols met Actionnel through Helen Hunter, when South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church was formed. Actionnel is listed as a founding member of the church through his relationship with Helen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David went to Haiti the first time in 2003 by himself after a trip with a group of friends fell through. David recalls how impactful visiting this community was to him – seeing how the school functioned and how priority was placed on making sure everyone had access to medical attention. The best part was joining his Haitian friends for worship on Sunday!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David and his wife, Judy, have traveled to Bayonnais over 20 times both together and separately. They have served on both the Ewo Board of Directors and the Friends Empowering Haiti Board of Directors. Their son, Eric, is also committed to serving our friends in Bayonnais and is currently serving on Board for Friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David said his Haitian friends feel more like family after almost 20 years of friendship. They share the same commitment to their faith and to working hard to better their families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
